After a productive 8 week pilot, we have collected the survey results and have some very interesting findings to report back to the group. We had 95% participation which provided even more data beyond our expected learnings and assumptions. The following presentation covers the entire pilot timeline...

By reducing churn, and keeping people motivated and active, the natural assumption is they will add sales to the bottom line rather than quit. By educating them about marketing, and maximizing their participation by giving each person a customized marketing plan that fits their lives, we felt we could drive stronger and prolonged sales activity.

While it would be great to have a "one size fits all" process for sales, we recognize that these ladies have a variety of responsibilities that are a real factor in their ultimate dedication and success. That's why our approach to work individually with each person and create a flexible plan to fit them, while still incorporating the company goals and standards, works best.

Motivation can be very creative

Marketing is the single most critical element for direct sales success outside the product itself.

 

While traditional marketing tactics and elements provide a base layer of options, today, the demand for more nimble and immediate solutions is key. That's why we created several new concepts that will take motivation and incentives to the next level. Our time together was short, and we could not effectively launch all of these programs, but we have enough input and evidence to prove that implementing these options will generate even stronger sales opportunities.

We created a pURL (personal URL) concept to help demonstrators recruit new people for an open house and to also invite guests. Using technology, we give the ladies something fun and creative to use in order to close the deal and see better results.

The MODsocket DS System has integrated tools to create, launch and manage a saturation mail campaign. You can leverage demographic data built into the system from Accudata that delivers a variety of key information about potential targets

Customizable Sales Sheets

We also designed custom sales sheets specific to certain industries to encourage new channels and the ability to walk in and make direct sales using a professional marketing piece that would set these ladies apart, giving them the confidence they need.

Some challenges are obvious...some, not so much

Shipping appears to be a big issue, and we have spoken to our partners at Fed Ex about your situation. Quite a few demonstrators stated that in many cases, the shipping charges were more than the actual item they had sold. We feel there is a huge opportunity for uppercase living to partner with Fed Ex and not only just solve the cost issue, but get expert assistance with logisitics to help create a solid shipping process and plan, down to the individual demonstrator.

Uppercase Living provided us with great participants, all with different levels of experience. Over the 8 weeks, we built great relationships with each of them, and it was only growing stronger. Their honesty and commitment was inspiring, so we are pleased to present the results they shared with us...

Certain answers rose to the top to give us solid indicators...

When you examine the answers and combine those results with the open statements from each user, the results become more obvious and we can characterize the responses into specific areas.

Is there a "place for this" in the business?

Yes. Most women not only felt the value personally, but indicated strongly that this program would benefit women just joining the uppercase living business.

 

Did women feel more motivation, more engaged, listened to and challenged?

Again, yes. We heard most women talk about feeling stronger with more confidence about selling. They were beginning to create better habits and also felt better having a dedicated person to work with them one-on-one.

 

Was the content provided in the pilot what they needed?

Not exactly. Because of the high level of experience of most women involved, the "generalized" marketing information used to begin the program wasn't "deep enough" for most of them. That isn't a problem for us because we started with the basics, and we have plans for a much more aggressive and deeper dive into tangible solutions for the program. We had to walk a thin line coming out of the gates so quickly, and not knowing how far we could go without "stepping on toes" at the corporate level, so we opted to create more generalized content for this test.

 

What is our takeaway from the pilot?

Clearly this added value. The women generally felt more engaged, more focused and more motivated to sell. While the content presented was more general, it is critical for your new people to learn. Creating deeper, more challenging content about marketing is not a problem, and we have plans to push these ladies further using more detailed strategies and tactics as we continued. The biggest value for CVSL and uppercase living is to now have access to a full service agency, that will help create stronger marketing content, easier programs to execute, and personalized plans for each demonstrator. And all of these services are included as part of this low, individual cost. We were just beginning to build momentum, and based on how the women responded, we feel confident adding this service will be a tremendous benefit to the growth of the company, but more importantly, to the growth of the bottom line sales numbers.
